We have been a partner of Blesma, The Limbless Veterans since 2022. This partnership has allowed us to donate four scooters a term to Blesma Members.
These mobility scooters play a crucial role in helping Blesma’s Members regain their independence. While some Members have lived without a limb for years, others have recently undergone amputations due to injury or infection.
In this case, Mr Smith has recently lost his leg and is in the process of adapting his life to keep his independence. When we were informed about Anthony’s situation we were keen to help by providing him with a mobility scooter and insurance.
Mr Smith explained to us when we met him that he is excited to have his new scooter as it will allow him to get around town and continue his current routine as much as possible. He had already planned the route he could take on one charge, including all his favourite spots.
Despite Mr Smith’s recent lifestyle change, he continued to stay optimistic about adjusting to his new lifestyle. He explained that he would be starting to learn to walk again with the help of Blesma.
Mr Smith says ‘’ Thank you very much for my new mobility scooter, I look forward to getting back out and about and seeing how far one charge will take me.’’
